Batman Arkham City Ending!!! (Spoilers are heavy!)

On the 18th of October and the 21st of October. Batman Arkham City will be available to a variety of people throughout the world. Many people are asking themselves how it will end, but we here at Gamers Inquest have got that one covered.

The game ends when Batman goes into a room where Joker is holding Talia Al Gaul. Whilst Joker is talking Talia stabs Joker with a sword, whilst Batman and Talia are speaking Talia gets shot in the head. We then see the joker again, Joker then tells us that the Joker that Talia just killed way actually Clayface. You then have a 10-20 minute boss battle with Clayface before watching the final scene.

Batman has been holding something that Joker wants, something that he needs, The Cure. Batman then smashes the cure, Joker then sadly dies doing what he loves, Laughing. Batman picks up the body and walks him out of the City past Catwoman, Harley, Commissioner Gordan and places Joker’s body on a police car.

This is an incredibly sad ending which could outrage or annoy fans of this popular villian.

But what strikes me most is. Arkham 3 without the Joker?

Kinect: Coming to a PC near you!!

Unless you have been living in a cave for the past year then you have probably heard of the awesome new technology used for the Microsoft Xbox 360. The Kinect features a webcam style camera to track your movements allowing you to play games without the need of a controller. It also has an in-built microphone, enabling you to use your Xbox 360 through various voice commands such as, ‘Xbox close tray’. I have to say I have used this extensively and have really enjoyed using it when playing games.

Well guess what? It’s now going to be compatible with Windows!! With the release of the Windows Kinect starter kit, that is due to be released this spring. I can’t wait to see what doors the Kinect will unlock when it’s released for Windows operating systems. The starter kit will allow users to access to the device’s audio and microphone system, and also accurate, direct control of the sensors.

The Software Development Kit (SDK) is also going to be offered as a free download and should be in my opinion, if you pay 100 on a device and also have to pay for its software it would be a scam. You may think that the Kinect is nothing special, with the Wii, PlayStation Move and PlayStation Eye why is the Kinect so special? Well first of all no controller is needed and it’s not like the Wii where the only good games are the party ones. A lot of games are using the Kinect technology in their games such as the new Harry Potter. Also, when it can be used with Windows it will reveal all sorts of doors to many computing aspects, as Microsoft’s statement explains;

‘The possibilities are endless.  Natural and intuitive technologies such as Kinect can be more than just a great platform for gaming and entertainment. They can open up enormous opportunities across a wide range of scenarios, including addressing societal issues in areas such as healthcare and education.’

This explains Microsoft’s view on the Kinect and the amount of faith that they have in its system. I really do think that the Kinect will help a lot in technological advancements this year, especially with the release of the Windows Starter kit. I’m really looking forward to this year as I do believe the Kinect is the way forward for video gaming. Roll on spring when it is released for all you PC gamers out there!!!

Preview: Playstation Move Heroes-A Homage to the Classics

Playstation Move Heroes is an interesting concept. Sony intends on essentially blending three of the greatest action adventure video game franchises ever made. Sly Cooper and his sidekick Bentley will join Jak and his sidekick Daxter as well as Ratchet and his side kick Clank for this adventure that spans four worlds: Paris from Sly Cooper, Haven City from Jak and Daxter, Kerwan from Ratchet & Clank, and finally Planet X, an all new world.

Will release on March 22, 2011

The game will feature multiplayer capability with the second player taking over as the sidekick, whether that will be Bentley, Daxter, or Clank is dependent upon who the first player has chosen. This will add an interesting aspect to the series as the prior games were predominantly one player.

Sony has brought on a relatively unknown developing company, Nihilistic Software (prior games include Conan and Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects). This was an interesting move within itself as Nihilistic Software had no part in any of the three franchises prior. This is a bold move,  Nihilistic Software has some high expectations to meet. So far the results look positive. Everything released about the game has been positive whether it be graphics, controls, or storyline. The game will be release on the Playstation 3 on March 22, 2011. Luckily, we were able to get set up with an early release copy that should arrive March 18. Not too early, but still good. We will review that game immediately to give you guys a general idea of whether it has lived up to the hype.

For those without a Playstation Move controller or camera, no worries. They are releasing a Playstation Move Heroes Bundle the same day which will include the Playstation Move controller, the camera, and the game all for $100.

On a final note, these characters are from great franchises , but I can’t help but wish they included Spyro and Crash Bandicoot. Maybe that screams for a sequel?
